Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in sewing, style, and day to day life. Hope you have a nice stay!

New Year, New Blog

New Year, New Blog

Welcome everyone and Happy New Year!

I have been wanting to start a blog for literally a decade, it started in 2012 when I found out that I was going to be living in Italy. I wanted to document my travels and share all the good food and shopping that I was going to be doing. Needless to say, that never happened.

Before going further into this story, I should probably tell you a little bit about me, huh? If we haven’t already met before, Hi! My name is Megan, I am a 30ish year old female whose soul is more like 80. My husband and I both serve in the military, and we have the two best dogs. Seriously, no one has better dogs than we do. We’ve been very fortunate enough to live all over the world, but currently call Colorado home.

Okay so now back to my blogging story. Where did I leave off? Oh right, wanting to start a blog when I was living in Italy. So fast forward to 2016/2017. During this time, I was deployed and have never felt so alone. Not only was I the only female in my unit, but I was also the only Air Force member. I had never felt so out of place. I found myself missing being creative and connecting with people who shared my interest and hobbies. That is when I stumbled upon the online sewing community. I had no idea that there was this virtual community filled with sewing blogs and YouTube channels. I found Rochelle from the blog Lucky Lucille, Jen from the Grainline Studio, Rosa from Sewn on YouTube and Amanda from I Sew a Lot (also on YouTube). I loved reading about their sewing adventures, seeing their makes, and learning from their tutorials. I. Was. Hooked. Through these online communities I was able to connect with people from all over the world and suddenly I felt a little less lonely, though I desperately missed my husband and our dogs back home.

I knew that I wanted to be a part of this amazing community. So, when I returned home, I started a YouTube channel and have made so many online sewing friends. I honestly can’t believe how blessed I am to have made these friendships.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with YouTube, sharing my makes, successes/failures, hauls, and sew alongs. But I would like to branch out a little bit and share some other parts of my life as well as interests. That’s where this blog comes in. Here you will not only get to see my sewing adventures, but other hobbies and life happenings. We just moved to Colorado, bought a home and are starting another chapter in our lives. I want to document that here. I have big ideas for our time here and goals that I would love to achieve. Such as reopening my Etsy shop, selling some of my handmade items at a craft fair or the local artist co-op that they have downtown. And hopefully start a family (fingers crossed).

But I would also love to get to know each and every one of you on a more personal level as well. Please reach out to me and leave me a comment. What is one thing that you have been wanting to do but are still hesitant to start? Do you have any goals that you would like to accomplish in the coming year? I hope this blog post finds you all well and I can’t wait to hear from you!

Cheers to 2022!

Megan
